"Exclusion and Embrace," by Miroslav Volf

Thursdays, 7:158:45 p.m., Elson Parlor

The beginning of the twenty-first century has brought with it a disturbing reality. The simple fact of being different in some way has come to be defined as in and of itself evil. Miroslav Volf contends that if the healing word of the gospel is to be heard today, Christians must find ways to speak that address the hatred of the other. Using the New Testament metaphor of salvation as reconciliation, Volf proposes the idea of embrace as a theological response to the problem of exclusion.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase in the bookstore.
