Find and Receive Care
How can we help?
Ways to Receive Care
Visit the Prayer Center or request prayer.
Deacons
Deacons are elected servant leaders in the Presbyterian Church who care for the congregation and mobilize the congregation to care for each other. Deacons listen to concerns you may have, pray with you, visit you when you are ill, support you through difficult times, and help you connect with other church members in your neighborhood.
Stephen Ministers
Stephen Ministry is one-to-one relationship centered care. Stephen Ministers provide love and care to those who are experiencing challenging times, such as the death of a loved one, hospitalization, divorce, loneliness, chronic illness, unemployment, spiritual crisis, a new job, and more. Stephen Ministers are there to support following the funeral, after everyone has gone home. They are there in life's difficult moments... after the call you never wanted to receive, after the last child leaves your home, after the baby arrives demanding more than you ever thought possible.
Stephen Ministers complete a 26-week training session before providing care. Typically, a Stephen Minister will meet with you confidentially one hour per week. Your identity and your conversations are private. Currently Stephen Ministers are meeting by phone or Zoom.
This care and joy list is updated weekly and distributed by email to those who wish to pray for National’s church family. Contact the careoffice@nationalpres.org if you would like to receive prayer, and if you would like your name included on the list. All prayer requests are shared with our Prayer Team.
