A Christian Bank’s Challenge to Urban Poverty
Robert Wauzzinski
Dwelling House Savings & Loan in Pittsburgh’s Hill District was a different kind of financial institution. Intentionally run on Christian principles, this bank found one successful way to address urban poverty. It represents one of the most inspiring examples of the integration of Christian faith and the competitive world of business. Robert is an ordained PC(USA) pastor and has taught for 30 years at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as in churches and even prisons. He is currently writing a book on the history and the philosophy of economics. Robert has been married to his wife for over 40 years; they have two adult children.
