International Association for Refugees – Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya

Kakuma is one of the largest and most diverse refugee camps in the world. It houses 180,000 refugees from some of the hardest places in the world – South Sudan, DR Congo, Somalia, and other countries. International Association for Refugees is a Christian ministry that supports local church initiatives in worship, education, shelter, hygiene, and evangelism.

National’s support has enabled IAFR to drill a water well in an area without access to water, to make progress on the construction of a seminary for refugees, and to support five talented girls on scholarship to prep schools throughout Kenya. IAFR’s director, Tom Albinson, visited National in 2018. IAFR has also supported refugee families with emergency food and PPE, and helped refugees start soap-making businesses in the midst of the pandemic. Please pray for an end to conflict in these refugees’ home countries, and for hope in this life and the life to come.
